Continuing the tradition from last year’s year in review post, here is the highlights from 2021, our best year yet in terms of views. At this writing, we have 8.8k views, to last year’s 8.2k. However, posts published during the year went down from 43 in 2020 to 33 in 2021.
Food Review Trends/Highlights
- Hot sauce was a constant theme throughout the year due to me getting a Gindo’s hot sauce subscription. I’ve stopped that recently due to not using hot sauce as much and thus having a very big backlog of hot sauce.
- Bunch of interesting random products. I was doing Imperfect Foods for part of the year, so I tried some random products, new vegan things, and so on.
- Speaking of vegan things! It feels like vegan products were the majority of things reviewed in 2021. It makes sense as I want to especially review vegan products so I know for myself which ones were good and which ones meh. It’s also fun trying them. It’s been a ride! Some vegan products that stand out:
- Cheeze & Thank You: Mustard Seed Smoked Gouda – had this again recently, was delicious!
- Miyoko’s Creamery Cultured Vegan Butter – This has been our go-to vegan butter!
- KOS Vanilla Protein Powder – I lived off of this stuff during the summer.

Looking Forward
Not sure what will be my 2022 focus, if any—I have some personal food/diet goals I want to achieve which will probably limit my ‘new food’ acquisition/tasting attempts so it could be quiet here. We’ll see.
